Towel Question

When you do machine embroidery on towels, do you put anything over the back of the embroidery after it is done? Or do you just try to trim really well?

Nancy Zieman's website http://www.nancyziemantv.com has a tutorial on embroidering towels. She uses tear-away stabilizer on the back & a water soluable on the front. I tried this last night when I was embroidering a hand towel but I forgot & put 2 layers of medium weight tear-away on the back. I think when it goes thru the washer & dryer more of it will come off of the back. Of course at 12:30am, I wasn't in the mood to tear off stabilizer.

i use cutaway stabilizer on the towels, i find i have zero distortion during or after washing, as after cutting it away and washing it the stabilizer is pretty much gone where you need it to be gone.

i also have water soluble on the top

I haven't embroidered towels for a while but I just trimmed closely after using a med. tearaway on the back. I don't know what else you could do. I assume you're asking in regard to having a rough patch on naked skin, right?
