Help - I have just got my first Serger

Hello - would anyone please be able to help? I have just inherited a Huskylock 560 overlocker, but of course with no instructions...I have tried to thread but it doesnt like me. I love sewing, and do so regularly but with a 7 year old who grows out of clothes as fast as I can buy them, I would dearly love to enter the world of overlocking!

Please help!

A serger can be tricky to thread. I have a Baby Loc and love it for it's air-threading system. I would have loved ANY serger that came to me out of the blue though and Viking/Husqvarna is an awesome brand. I have one of their embroidery/sewing machines and love it.

I'd recommend you find a H/V dealer in your area. Since you didn't buy the machine from them you'll have to pay a small fee but I'm sure they'll offer a class in the basic operation of your serger. They'll be able to get you a manual as well. What you'll pay for the lesson and manual will be well worth the price, trust me.

I didn't understand why I should get a serger at first and asked here at the board. After having mine now for a year I can't imagine not having it. I make entire items using only the serger. It's not a necessity but it sure makes it fun!

I looked in SWN archives. Someone there had the manual and offered to make copies to send another SWN member. Perhaps if you go to the new SWN web site they will be there and answere your query.

There are at least 2 places on the web where you can purchase manuals, one I think is sewingmachinemanuals.com, but I'm not positive and I'm at work, so I can't check my favorite website lists. Do a search for sewing machine manuals and I bet you can come up with one! Or search for your particular machine manual.
