Round 2 serger not cutting

My serger has been acting up for a while, not cutting cleanly. I sat down today and it now clean, new needles, both blades are new and adjusted, new thread. I've adjusted and readjusted the stitch length, width and the differential until I can't see straight. The tensions look perfect and there is no puckering and the fabric isn't trying to roll up inside the seam allowance. Only thing that looks bad is the cut edge. There are wisps of fabric showing on some fabrics, on others small triangles of fabric are popping thru the stitching along the edge, and I've noticed that sometimes not all layers of fabric will fall into the scrap catcher, the cut fabric will actually feed itself up along the fabric I'm stitching on and get caught in the stitching and really look bad. Any ideas, suggestions or does it need a trip to see the doctor? I'm at a loss as to where to take it since the dealer I purchased it from closed many years ago and I can't find anyone who works on White machines.

It could be that the timing is off a little bit. I'm having issues with the needle threads breaking on brand new spools of thread on both of my sergers. I just walked away and will go back to it later. Black thread is always a pain in the rump.

Could be timing is off. Try tightening the moving blade. I had this problem when my machine came back from its annual service. That fixed my problem. Bit of a nuisance really because I had complained to DH about my frustration and he had said go look at some new sergers. I was eying the babylock evolution

I continued to play with the settings yesterday and got it cutting good on some knit so I tried it on the baby gowns I'm making. Again it went back to not cutting good, the bottom fabric would fold over and get caught in the stitching and make a mess. Went back to what I was testing and it did fine. Didn't have any scraps of the baby fabric to work on and none like it in my stash. I narrowed the stitch width and it did fairly well. I ended up cutting the seam allowance off and stitched with out cutting just to get this set of gowns done.
If I can find someone who can work on White machines I'm going to take it in and have a check up since it hasn't had one since I bought it! Thanks for the ideas.
Marty, are the threads breaking or is it a bad batch of thread where it is cut throughout the cone? I've had cones of thread that did that and what a pain that is. I've also noticed how black thread gives me the most problems in my serger needles. It is like there is too much lint in it and the lint starts to pile up in front of the eye then the thread finally gives way. Gray is the next color problem for me and I use a lot of gray since it blends in with a variety of colors.
Skye, DH adjusted and readjusted the blade for my yesterday. It did best when I narrowed the stitch width-at least on the thin butter soft knit I had for baby gowns. Someone donated the fabric to me and I have no idea what it is but it sure is heavenly soft. DH has also suggested I look for a new serger and I'm leaning towards a brother, very basic since all I do with it is finish seams.

At this point, I am just ready to get a job transition finished that I've been going through for the past few weeks, so I can get back to sewing again!

Sewingrandma, I have had similar problems at times with my White serger, it seems that it had more to do with fabric than my serger and I think I ended up using some water soluble stabilizer wraped around the edge of the fabric before I serged it.
Another thought, my upper blade turns down to sew without cutting. If I am not watchful, I will not get the blade pushed all the way back In place when I flip it back up. Could the blade just not be getting seated in its proper spot.

I take my serger to the nearest sewing machine repairman. Anyone familiar with a serger should be able to work on a white.

Belinda, thanks for your input. I know there is an issue with the blade placement as a little piece in the bar that turns the blade up/down fell out and was not noticed sometime ago. DH found something that is close but not tight enough and the blade does move out of position and all I have to do is push on that bar to get it back in (luckily it doesn't move far or very often). DH has also replaced and adjusted and readjusted the blades to get it right also. I actually think it was the fabric I was using as all the other gowns and onesies I've made with a firmer hand did just fine. I was thinking thru making washcloths this morning and decided I needed to go buy some stabilizer as I'm sure serging the edges is not going to go as smoothly as I'd like. Thanks also for telling me about any service place can probably work on a White. DH has been searching for a week trying to find someplace to get parts, service manuals etc on line and locally and no one carries them. The only thing he has been able to find are replacement blades on line. Seems like White isn't as well known as the other brands any longer. I learned to sew on a White sewing machine to many years ago than I like to think about.
