I bet that is it Libby! But even as an experienced sewer I hate tackling bobbin tension. But I guess since it isn't working anyway you can't mess it up anymore than it already is.

Best advice I ever got, "Only turn that bobbin tension screw a 1/4 turn at the time and then test.." I have always practiced that. A small adjustment goes a long way on bobbin tension.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I love it! So you think I should keep the 9117. That's actually good advice. My husband and I could take our time restoring it back to life. Right now though it makes me angry just lookin at it :x all the trouble it has given me. I'll totally have to think about it. It does make sense to have a back up machine, ESPECIALLY when I start to learn more and start sewing more often. I wouldn't want to go through those crazy withdrawals :anxious:

Do you take your machine? Maybe they can figure it out!

The store said you can bring your own machine. Hey..... that's a great idea. Why didn't I think of that. My heads been stuck in terminally ill bobbin land.

Usually when they say that, they qualify it by saying that the machine must be in good working condition. So I'd take a "good working" machine as well...otherwise you may be watching instead of doing.

And don't ask too close to class time or during. Get there well ahead or stay after. If they have the time I'm sure someone will try to help. Normally the other students would be a ton of help but in this case you're all novices so I don't suppose you can count on that. :D
