Dorothy Long-who was one of us has passed away.

New postby LeapFrog Libby on Wed Oct 21, 2015 4:27 pm

Just learned that Dorothy Long has passed away from Cancer, I think they said she passed yesterday. She was a gifted seamstress as well as lots of other Talents that she had. She was always so free with advice and helping others solve sewing problems. I know you will remember how she loved Ice Hockey. She was an avid fan. And later roller derby because her daughter started on one of those teams. Dorothy will be missed. Keep her family in your thoughts and prayers..

Was Dorothy the lady from New York Area. A newspaper writer?
Just trying to get the frame of reference.
This is so sad to hear. Cancer does not distinguish between peoples. It hits all families sometime, somewhere along life's way. I will be praying for the family.

So sad to read this. Dorothy was about my age (if I remember correctly). Her husband worked in social services and she was a writer for a newspaper, I think. She was an avid hockey fan. I've missed her on the forum. Will say prayers for her and her family.

So sorry to hear this about Dorothy -- thank you for sharing this Libby. She was certainly a big help when I was first getting started sewing, and she always seemed to have a balanced perspective on life outside of sewing. She hadn't posted in a while. She will definitely be missed.

Kaitlinn, I had not heard from her in a couple of years. I think she and Jan Hodgefrom Eng.were close friends . I believe she has been battling the cancer for a good whil now, but I do not know for sure. I enjoyed her well rounded personality, and she sure knew her sewing, (and her Hockey teams), LOL She had 2 daughters, I think, plus her husband.

Very sad to hear this. Dorothy was one of the stalwarts on this forum, and I certainly enjoyed her posts. She had a witty humour.
Take care,
Donna
