Hi! I'm a grandmother in Tulsa Oklahoma but originally from Chicago. I love sewing, cooking and spending time with my grand kids. I am looking forward to seeing what you all are up to!

Welcome PattyJean. We are a small but close group. Questions and answers are welcome and generally get a response quickly.
What type of sewing do you do? Garment, quilting, embroidery?
I'm a grandmother to 7 and watch full time the youngest who is 20 months. She is the first of the grands that has lived close enough for us to do this and we are certainly enjoying Abby.
I do a lot of sewing for charity-Newborns in Need-making gowns, outfits, burps, bibs and blankets. I also do a lot of knitting and crochet for the organization also. I used to sew for our children, my DH and myself but haven't done any adult sewing since I started doing the baby items. DH and I have reached the age where we don't need as much as we used to when we were both working.
Again, welcome. Visit often.

Patty Jean, It is good to make your acquaintance. I haven't sewn for 3 years due to my husband's illness. I did sew for my youngest granddaughter and the older ones when they were children. I have never achieved great sewing but enjoyed what I did. I hope this coming year will mark the return of a tiny bit of time each day to sew. My Ronnie is improving by tiny bits each day. I like to post photos of my work and love to see what others make. I have no local sewing folk to talk to.

Hi Patty Jean, welcome to the group. I sew something almost every day. I do a lot of machine embroidery, serging, and handwork so I keep busy. I prefer sewing garments. Being retired gives me the opportunity to sew whenever I want. I am involved in several sewing organizations like the American Sewing Guild, Smocking Arts Guild of America, and Threads of Love where I serve in leadership capacities. I also coordinate a sewing ministry within my church and hold a class monthly called Sit & Sew. It's open to the community to come in and sew, get help on projects, learn some techniques or the basics. As you can tell, sewing is a big part of my life. I hope that you will tell us about your sewing adventures and post pics of your work. We all love eye candy. By the way, I'm in Memphis, TN.
Marty ;)

Welcome Patty Jean. I sew for charity mostly now. Every once in a while I make a few garments. Just finished a baby dress for a Christmas gift to a baby who is overdue right now.. LOL Her mom is miserable rght now.. Miss Natalie is taking her own sweet time being born. I made 66 stockings for militay personnel this year . Our Church fills them and we have done this for 4 years now. I really love this poject.Ilso make baby bibs from embroiedered fingertip towels and donate them to the USO Suite at our local Airport for the traveling military families at Christmas time. We are glad you are here.
