I was about ready to give up

New here? Stop in and say hello!

I was about ready to give up

New postby jouf on Sat Sep 15, 2007 7:30 am

Thought the site was gone forever! Then on the sewing pattern review site I saw them talking about it with a referral here, but it was listed as just an archive of the old site!

Anyway, I don't post much, but was glad to find you! I was particularly watching someone's post who was building a corset. Hope I can find hers again. I just completed my first one and it turned out great. The power of suggestion... Like I needed (or will wear) a corset?? And I'm making two more. I used to sew when my daughter was a youngster and then gave it up - too busy with work. (Now she's 28! Where did the time go?)

I've spent the last 2.5 years knitting. My whole life I wanted to learn and just couldn't. But with the power of internet and online videos, I got it and took off. Recently got bitten by the sewing bug and got a D1 that I love. I believe I'll be getting a Huskylock 936 very soon. I read a lot about the Babylock Evolve, but it's just too expensive.

Anyway, thank you for a wonderful site and all the helpful people!

Welcome back, Jouf. Glad to see you.

I think the corsette maker was Blackie (Kelly). If you go back several pages (say a week or so) you'll see that she was here for a very short time and is gone again. She does have a sewing blog and gives reference to that. Don't forget the Sew What's New Archives (upper right) to catch up on any of those posts that you may have missed.

Glad to see you. Knitting's fun. I've done it off and on for years and am finally tackling socks. I've tried and gotten frustrated a few times but I seem to be getting the hang of it thanks to a supposedly "foolproof" pattern. So far, so good.

Hi Jouf, welcome to the group. Life has been busy so I haven't been posting often. Glad to see you found the new group. Now, what are you sewing these days?
