Sounds like a glitch to me, Lennie. It's not an exclusive group -- I am a subscriber. I would try to track down someone's e-mail address who is involved in the group. Let me know if you can't find someone to contact.

Lennie, I found out on WildGinger forum that the Yahoo Group has been redone and has new moderators and you can probably get on now. They are supposedly more friendly. I have to tell you that I like my Software and though it has taken me a while I have warmed up to the moderator Karen. She seemd a bit overbearing at first but really knows the software and what it takes to get a good fit. There is a longer learning curve for some of us than others but I think it is a good product. You do have to learn to pay close attention to the settings you are getting compared to what settings you have told the software to use. It is not just enter your measurements and print the pattern sort of thing. I would buy it again and intend to get the mens version when I can.
Well if you tried in just the last day or two than my post is not valid. Sorry.

I wouldn't know who to contact. It tells me directly that this is "Final". Sewingmom, this was only two or three days ago.

What I'll do is try again IF I buy the software. Don't feel like dealing with rude or "overbearing" moderators that would intimidate my asking "trivial" questions. There's too much info I can find elsewhere. Thanks.

Lennie, I think yahoo groups is having some sort of problem. I just logged on to the pattern master users group, and it says I am subscribed, but I can't view any of the messages. I would try again in a few days.

I find it highly unlikely that you would be excluded intentionally. There certainly isn't strict moderation, at least as far as I can tell.

Lennie, you have to remember I am from the South and what might seem overbearing to me might just be a difference in local manerisms and way of speaking. Karen is one of the producers of the software and is the" go to" person for fitting help /software use. Don't write off their forum on just my comment. There is a lot of good information there and some real pros at using the software..

Sewingmom, we are talking about the unofficial Yahoo group not the official Wild Ginger forum (with Karen the supposed guru). The official forum is strictly moderated from what I understand, to the point where people were having difficulty posting some problems they were having because the owners/moderators didn't want anything negative about their products. That is why the Yahoo group was started, but it seems like Yahoo is just having some technical difficulties right now which is likely why Lennie got that automated message.

Do you remember forming a "club" as children? ....and the first thing we did was restrict membership?

It sounds as though that practice has not yet progressed to a higher level.

It saddens me to think that adults moderating a discussion or moderating a group would treat anyone who obviously is an intelligent human being with such finality and abruptness.

I hope you are able to find the information you were looking for through another venue.

I am now a member of both groups. Lennie, try again. I think it was just a yahoo glitch that caused you to be kept out. How about getting a new Yahoo mail address and then register with it in the new group. There could have been a glitch due to your old yahoo e-mail address. I have some difficulty with the yahoo group due to the format though I have read the official Wild Ginger forum for several years and find them to be very encouraging and helpful. No problem posting there either.

Gee, thanks. :D

And sewingmom, funny but the desire has left me for now. It'll crop up soon enough. It's come and gone over the last several months. I'll try out the demo in the next few days and take it from there.

Lennie, here is a site that talks about the Wild Ginger software. http://www.flyingember.com/sewing Phyllis Carlyle has used it for many years & uses it in her personal sewing while holding a full-time job. Maybe she can answer some questions about it for you. She has lots of photos on her site on what she has made using the software. Phyllis is on several discussion groups on yahoo that I am on. Hope this helps.
