Can't find post on crib blankets 3yds+backing=3 gifts

I know it's here somewhere and I think I actually asked another time for someone to show it to me and they did. I printed it off or wrote it down somewhere but can't find anything in my sewing stash of papers since I'm in the process of moving to another room and organizing stuff.

I know you get 3 fabrics of 1 yd each and 3 yds for the backings. Mix/coordinate and by cutting correctly, you get three different but similar blankets. Can't remember the measurements for cutting and I've sewn/given away the ones I already had completed.

I bought fabric last night to make 6 girl blankets and Amanda bought a crib panel and matching backing for her friend due next month. I want to get one of mine done right away since the mom is due next week then I can help Amanda this weekend if I don't have to work.

Thanks, Kathy

It's called a super sized 9 patch. I have the directions in the other room, I'll go look for it.

Sorry couldn't find it with my printed directions.

Thank you so much. I knew it was somewhere but I could not remember what it was called or find the link anywhere in any of my older posts and I know I found the info on this site b/c I don't belong to any others except the pattern review one and I haven't visited that since I made those darn bridesmaid dresses.

I absolutely love making these, they are relatively cheap if you get a good deal on the fabric or have some in your stash (mine is dwindling) and I buy either the batting by the yard on sale or the packaged batting on sale (I get king size and cut it down into several). I used up all of the girls' ones for shower/baby gifts and gave the last boy one to the fundraiser I did a few weeks ago so I didn't have any left to get measurements from. Seems like everyone I know who is expecting is having a girl.

When I took the fundraiser ones to work to donate, I discovered these are the perfect size for lap quilts for the residents at the nursing home where I work. I plan on making some for the residents Christmas party and holiday sale we do to raise money for the residents activity fund. Everyone at work LOVED them and I even took an order to make one for a co-workers son. I have no idea what to charge her but she said it didn't matter, just do superheros prints as that is what he is into right now. I forgot to pick up that fabric the other night so I guess I'll just have to go back to the fabric store....darn :)

Thanks again,
Kathy
