Was sure glad to get a link to this site. I had not been visiting the Sew Whats New forum for awhile due to illness and couldn't sew. Now that all that is past I went to the forum link last night and low and behold it took to me to some site for "second wives". After about 4 tries decided my computer was being hijacked or the site was gone. I emailed Mary W and she was kind enough to answer and direct me here. So I am back, not full time but as much as I can.
A bit about me, I am Jacke, 66 yrs old, been sewing most of my life, began when I was 8 yrs old on an old treadle machine. In 1952 Mom traded in the treadle and got me a Singer Featherweight - which I still have. I live in the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee, not far from Pigeon Forge and Dollywood. My DH of 42 years is very supportive of my sewing and quilting hobby. If it makes me happy, he is ok with it. I have done all kinds of crafts over the years, you name it I probably have done it and may still do it. I also do decorative painting and landscapes. Don't sew many garments now (patterns too hard to fit the ole body ) but do love the quilting. My main sewing machine is a Bernina 1630, I also still have my old Singer Touch and Sew 750, the featherweight, and of course a Bernette Serger.
Glad I found the new site and will visit and join in as much as I can.
