My first art quilt

New postby bridesmom on Mon Dec 28, 2009 4:15 pm

Ok, here it is. I have to admit, I am thrilled with how this has turned out. Honestly i was terrified to do it, but other than a few things that I'd change for the next time, it went well. Posting the picture it was taken from as well. This is Lennie, my son's dog that we lost in November to cancer. It's DS's Christmas present that he will get on Wednesday. I did go for the woodgrain on the border which went pretty good. It's nice not having to make straight lines when free motion quilting.

Laura,

That is a fantastic gift to your son. It made me cry thinking how much he will cherish the quilt of his dear Lennie made by his wonderful mom. The quilt rivals some that we see in the quilt show in Lancaster, PA each spring. You have done a great job and should be very proud of your work! :applause:

I am in awe of your talent, Laura. It's just beautiful and so very meaningful. Be sure and let us know how it goes when you give it to your ds. What a wonderful way to honor a very special and well loved dog. :applause:
