Need Help With my New Feet!

New postby Pudge99 on Wed Apr 22, 2009 1:33 pm

I just bought a pack of Singer Feet with this foot in it. Does anyone know where I can find instructions on how to use it?

Hey Gina, I know I'm risking my rep as a non-quilter  but that foot is to keep your stitching lines straight as you sew longer lengths. You adjust the bar to the width you want between your rows of stitching.

  I have a similar attachment for my Pfaff only I use a regular foot with it. I wonder why this foot is so tiny though.

Boy, you've exhausted my knowledge of the foot. I've never used one.

Probably should have asked the question in the quilting section.

You called...a quilting lady has arrived!
:P
Well I don't have a Singer and have never seen a 1/4 inch foot quite like this. But it says that it is a 1/4 inch foot which is used to help you sew those 1/4 inch seams on your blocks. It looks like it has the guide to sew straight lines...like Lennie suggested. When I searched the site for that foot, it says that it comes with instructions on how to use it. If you didn't get instructions in the package, I'd try contacting them to get some.

I have a similiar type of guide on a sewing foot but I haven't used it much. It's when I'm quilting that I usually I want to quilt with straight lines but I have a guide that I can attach to my walking foot.

Judee,

I bought mine clearanced at Hancock in a package with 3 other feet. No instructions were included. I would love to know why the "toes" are so tiny. I'll be searching the internet to see what I can find.

Theresa,

Sanity left me a LONG time ago. We are still planning to move this summer but hubby does not have a definate job so we are still in limbo. The house I picked out in December is still for sale and the fabric store has had no other interested parties so we are just waiting on a job for hubby.

i think all our machines come with it, we just do not use it lol. i have one with my Pfaff and my old Janome, and they just call it a sewing guide for those long straight lines, instead of marking them with a ruler. i think it would be good for doing circles too once you have one drawn, then you just follow it with the guide and go on and on etc

oh i know what it is called now, cross hatching, at least in the quilting world that is what i call it :D
