Another introduction.

Hi, I guess I should make it official and formal by way of introducing myself. My name is Lennie (Valentina, really) and I live in a small mtn. community outside of San Diego, Calif. Happily married for 11 years now, second time around. Dh is the fire chief of our town and greater area. I have two kids, dd, 26 and ds, almost 25 and dh has two, a ds, 27 and dd, 29. Now the "kids" are of the furry variety. We have three dogs (a golden, Leo, a blk lab, Jack, both male and huge and rescued and then there's our little mutt girl, Betty, who we literally found behind our house as a pup.) There are four kitties that were all rescued from the streets except one. There's Max, tuxedo Manx, Fred, grey boy, Frankie, pampered Flamepoint Ragdoll, and Oscar, tuxedo. I sew for the community doing simple alterations and whatever might be needed. I'm as busy as I want to be with that. I really prefer to have plenty of time to sew for us.

Nope, not me Jeanette. That's our very own Bama (Lori). I'm not a quilter although they're trying VERY hard to lure me to the dark side....... :o

The lady at the quilt shop on Monday said that once she started quilting, she never went back to garment sewing! I can definitely see the draw..no fitting, straight seams, etc..but I don't want to give up garment sewing just yet, and I think I have too many UFO's as it is. :D Don't go to the dark side, Lennie!!

I did try it, honestly. I have a queen size quilt top that actually turned out very nice. I completed a table runner from the leftover fabric, cotton batting and all. I started machine quilting the queen size one and was not happy with the way it was coming out although I like the top very much. I think I did a pretty good job for a first time. I will finish it. I have a stairwell that I was planning to hang it in. So, see, I have tried it. I've seen the dark side  but was really not enamored with it. There's still time. I'm so very young yet. ;)
