I've been in my sewing room all week, going thru everything in there. Getting rid of a lot of trash all over the house, and just getting some organizing done in the SR. I have been thinking a lot about fabric shops that are no longer around, because so much of my stash is from 'going out of business sales'. I am seriously thinking of donating some of the woven cottons to the battered women's shelter if they have any sewing facilities for their occupants. I believe it would be good therapy for some of them. (make quickie items for their kids, etc..) I have rediscovered some treasures, also.. But, I'm really exhausted what with all that work and dear GS being underfoot 24/7.. I love him dearly, but I need a little breathing space once in a while.. He has gone back home now and I'm taking it easy for a day or two.. I have found bags of quilt batt and pillow stuffing to make a pile almost as big as a bale of cotton, can you believe that ?? Of course , a lot of all the stash is going to come in handy, with me being on a limited income now.. (car payments and gas, you know)

Yes, I saw yesterday on one of my discussion groups that today was the last day for Baer Fabrics. Heard that the employees were given little notice. On an upnote, I heard yesterday that JoAnn Fabrics plans to open a store in Memphis sometime in the next year or so. The closest one now is over 150 miles away. We had one back in the early 1980's but it closed within a year of opening. Maybe this one will be able to make a go of it.

But you won't get the variety or the quality fabrics at joann. Stores like baers, that have been in business over a hundred years, and candlelight valley had superb fabric. lynne
