One quilt done, found another UFO darn it. That's what happens when you clean up. Note to self- no more cleaning up.
Tomorrow, work on 2nd UFO quilt top.

I've done some work on my 2007 calendar quilt. I want to finish that quilt first so I can start a 2008 calendar quilt. I'm already almost a month behind.
I made the puppy a tiny dress using a tiny amount of stash left from a dress I made for dd when she was little.
I'm creative. You can't expect me to be neat too.

Two yards down, 1 baby quilt done. Also, my 7 year old finished her baby quilt, which came from my stash, so I don't know if those 2 yards count or not. Since there is no prize, I think it would be ok to count it ;)

Once I get them washed I'll take pictures. Her quilt was amazing. She did a great job. I did finish her quilting for her, as it was too hard for her little hands to handle, her fingers were getting too close to the walking foot, and she was getting dizzy sewing wavy lines onto polka dot fabric.

Well, I'm back to four empty bolts in the corner and no money for fabric so I'm failing in my goal. On the up side, my husband will soon have a new shirt.

I finally made myself sew! I got 1 receiving blanket & 1 burp cloth done. I will do the aprons & other burp cloth Friday unless I find a few minutes before bed tomorrow.

UFO's 14/35. Yardage 3/100

New postby Pudge99 on Fri Feb 01, 2008 9:12 am

Well I used up 3 yards of muslin for my Girl Scouts. I cut it all into 4 1/2 inch squares for them to color and use in the their 9 patch blocks. I did buy 5 more yards but they will be using that to back their quilts so it doesn't count as a negative.

1 bag finished

New postby fabric_addict on Sat Feb 02, 2008 10:54 am

4 more bags to go. The first grocery bag turned out OK. I had a hard time finding matching hot-pink thread in my stash so I resorted to some weak thread that I'd gotten from a relative (stuff that I really only intended to use for hand-basting). I used that on the machine and it seemed to be working okay. I hope it does hold together. I think it should. The thread only broke on me 2-3 times and the stronger blue thread broke once.

I admire your willpower. I had to go to Walmart for an oil change. The guy said it would be at least an hour. Well guess where I spent my time? Yup, in the fabric aisles. I bought 8 yards to make a quilt. If DD would keep her mouth shut I wouldn't be making all these quilts. She is going on a mission trip this summer and needs to raise money for expenses. She told the group leader that I would make a quilt for an auction/fundraiser. Geesh, like I don't have enough projects around here already. And of course, she didn't like the scrap quilt I made from the leftovers from one of her Christmas gifts to a friend. (I'm still quilting that one by the way).

Ok, off the computer and to the quilt frame.......

I used up 3 yards of fabric making Valentine's Day dresses for my granddaughter and the little girl across the street.
