I am 66 years old. I was married for 20 years and have been divorced for 20 years. I love being single and free.

I have a 37 yr old son who lives in Montreal with his wife but no children on the horizon.

I retired from nursing 4 years ago, thus officially RN, retired. I worked all of my working life span. For most of my career I was a nurse educator. I taught everything from short continuing ed courses, refresher nursing programs to LPN to BSN programs, primarily in RN programs (US = ADN). My area of practice and focus was family nursing with some surgical nursing, though I have worked in most nursing areas including community nursing. When our diploma nursing program evolved into a BSN program I developed and taught alternate/complementary healing methods into our traditional healing course - a life long interest. More than you probably wanted to know, but explains some of my responses to posts.

I also have been involved with computers for 20 years, including using mainframes, but the speed of technology tends to overwhelm me. I have a chronic pain/fatigue syndrome as well as extensive degenerative joint problems, which led to my not so early retirement.

I look forward to continuing to 'communicate'/share new and old ideas with friends and other members. My goal this year is to sew down my stash and sew my McKenna Ryan quilt.

My signature shows while I get little sewing/quilting done.
PS What is an uber geek - a smilie in list?
