Sorry about your husband's diagnosis, and the resultant stress you are experiencing; do take at least five minutes off during the day and do some deep breathing exercises I think that it should ease some of the stress you are feeling. Good luck with your paper work.

I got some help today at church. A couple stayed after service and listened to me and gave me some advice. I have the most pressing paperwork done and hope to be in bed in a few minutes. Ronnie was in an amiable mood today and initiated getting the laundry folded and switched from the washer to the dryer. He also got ready for bed and gave himself his bedtime insulin unsupervised. It was good to see him initiate responsible independence. I surely hope that means that the neurologist is wrong. He based his diagnosis on an assumption.

Is there anything in your area called Respite care where you can take your husband or yourself to get your/his mind off of things or so you can have some time to take of things without him around hindering you? Is there Visiting Angels in your area (although it costs) that could come stay with him while you take care of things? Otherwise I wish I could help you but I think I live too far away... and know that others care and listen and send thoughts to you

Belinda, wish that there was something that I could do to help you. What is the accountant doing that you hired to represent Ronnie at the IRS? She should be the one gathering the paperwork and putting it in order ... NOT you. Do you have a local Elder Care attorney that can help you in filing the paperwork with the courts? If not, have you contacted Legal Aid in your county for assistance? Even though you and your son are trying to provide care for Ronnie, you have to relinquish the reins and let others help you even if you have to hire someone. If you don't, you're going to have a total nervous breakdown and won't be able to help anyone. I'll try to call you over the weekend. Know that you are in my prayers and daily thoughts. Remember, we are only promised today ... you do not need to fret about the "what ifs". Just do the best you can with what you have. It is possible that Ronnie is in the early stages of dementia especially since he has not got his diabetes under control. It does affect brain cognitive function and memory. That also goes along with a stroke. Is there a mobile therapist who can come to the house to give Ronnie his PT to save you all of that driving. You can do this because I believe that you are a strong woman who is not going to let life challenges defeat you. I'm tied up with family responsibilities until Monday of next week but I will try to call you on Sunday afternoon.
Marty ;)
