seems like everyone is busy busy busy with other things

I am missing everyone on here, I know I am guilty of not coming to visit as much, but lately when I have, its been slim pickens to see what is going on, or sewing projects that everyone is working on... I miss the old days...
I did make DS his potholders finally so he would quit taking all of mine, he wondered why I made them... oh well.. kids.. will get pictures when I can.. I even bought star wars material to make them fun for him.. I used some sponge bob fabric that I had left over also... oh well
made some for me too.. Mickey mouse ones and just a springy one.. more Eastery with eggs on it actually..
Made some throw pillows from some old sweaters of DH that I had here too.. found fiberfill at Walmart at a good price.. under $12.00 for 5# thought that was pretty good to make throw pillows from
DS is working right now while he "finds" himself and figures out what he wants to do.. or go back to college... sigh... only a part-time job.. about 20 hrs a week.. not a lot of money in that!!!
Hubby and me still working our job as custodians.. still liking it.. Yay!!
Had a good Easter.. just the 3 of us.. supposed to go to my sisters but she got sick, so we stayed at our house, I made chicken fajitas , with dipping oil for french bread, sauteed green peppers and onions and confetti angel food cake and ice cream. DH worked outside as it was a nice day...

Karen, I check in at least 5 times a week. I don't write much as I have been resting and doing other things and not sewing, because I needed a rest period after the Church Banners I made.. Now I am about ready to start on some warm weather sewing, if the weather will only warm up just a little.. I saw on FB that Lori had been on vacation in Savannah. I know she had a great time in that city. That is the only place I have ever lived besides Charlotte. I loved it dearly and my stay there was much too short. 1 and 1/2 years only back in the 60's.
I have one more chore before I can get back to fun sewing. Making a 1913 style outfit for church sunday and the costume contest, along with one of those great big hats that were so popular back then.. Wish me luck on that.. LOL.

Hi Karen, it's good to see you posting once again. I keep busy sewing 6 days a week ... I rest on Sundays but will read about sewing or watch a sewing DVD while resting. I'm making training dolls for St Jude's Children's Hospital. I just finished making The Butterfly Dress and am almost finished with The Daisy dress and then it will be on to the Spring dress. These dresses are for children in a high poverty area inner city school. I also have several alterations to finish for church/non-church members that are due tomorrow so I have a lot sewing on my plate. In the Completed Projects section are photos of The Butterfly Dress. Hope that you will take a look at it. Am looking forward to seeing pics of your sewing projects.

Glad to see you popping in to say hi. I have to get the Fire Precinct's minutes of the annual meeting off to the state with the assorted forms and then there is tax season, we don't usually have to pay but still check to make sure and this year there is my late dad's to have done. I finally found what I needed so I could get it off to the accountant. Everyone is keeping busy here sewing away. My machine is probably pouting in the corner as I have neglected her.

I have been super busy at work & then watching my granddaughters after work. some people just dropped out all of the sudden. I wish we could find a way to get them back. I check in a few times a day but sometimes I am just too tired to post

I'm here too! I check in nearly daily but don't have much to add generally. Have put sewing on hold for a little bit. Spring has decided to arrive here and the yard really needed some tending to. Our trees drop branches all winter long and have to be picked up before we can mow. I hauled 6 loads to the road for pick up yesterday and mowed today. It is so nice to see the sun out more. Now if the temps would come up just a little bit more I'd be happy. Not looking forward to the high temps and humidity summer brings but would like it to be around 70.

I was checking in and snooping on what people were doing, but it seemed not much was going on, and then it seemed facebook took my time.. and then the evil pinterest took over!!!
That site can swap your time like I have never seem something take over!!!

Oh well, I am glad some of the same ones are still here!!! and I see some of us on face book anyhow!!! I am glad that this site is still here so I can come here to look up something that I know was here and I can then look for it here...

I cleaned a cupboard in my pantry today. Trew away a box of very expired food. have another group for my kids to go through that I won't use. Found out I have way too much Jello. I am making some for 2 parties this weekend. I am going to have to change my shopping habits with only 3 in the house & 2 of us are supposed to be eating low sodium.
