Banners are now Hanging

New postby LeapFrog Libby on Wed Mar 20, 2013 8:53 am

The Banners celebrating our Church's 100th Birthday are now hanging in the Sanctuary. They were there Sunday morning when I walked in. They look so beautiful on the wall. They are suspended on Trumpet shaped rods up high on each outer wall in the church. They are 30 by 90 inches of Purple Liturgical Brocade fabric with Gold lettering. 1913 is at the top and 2013 is a little bit above the bottom. Celebrate 100 years appear vertically down in between the years. Then at the bottom is the Methodist Flame. The gold is glittery so it really stands out. I am so proud of the way they turned out. I am trying to arrange a photo session so that I will have a good photo of them, but I don't think we will be able to get 1 overall shot. Maybe the photographer can do some magic with a wide angle, but I don't think so.. I will let you know. BTW It took me about 15 extra minutes to leave because I receivd so many compliments on them.

Looking forward to seeing the pics, Libby. The church where my daughter works just celebrated their 100th anniversary also. My daughter worked really hard on making posters, decorating, etc. She is their youth director so they didn't have any banners to my knowledge.

I hope you can post pictures. Both my grandfather AND grandmother were Methodist ministers.
