Feb Quilting

So here's what I've been up to: the first batch are what I did at the quilt retreat, I quilted the red/black/car quilt and the blue/stripe quilt. I made 3 tops, the blue scrap is done, the red will still get a small border (maybe yellow, or blue) and the red border, the green scrap is going as is with the green background, it will be a baby quilt. I still have to do the binding on the two quilted ones, the car quilt is for a woman at work who just had her first baby, the other is just using up scraps.

I also changed the border on the b/w quilt, I just didn't like the white border, so this is what it looks like now. And also my Free Spirit challenge quilt which still has to be quilted, it's supposed to be ready for tomorrow night, but it won't be. I'm not thrilled with it, I wasn't liking the fabrics they gave us, we could only add solids, and I wasn't going to buy fabric, I only wanted to use stash, so it's not my favorite, but it's almost done. No idea how to quilt it either. Any suggestions are most welcome!

Now remember, these are ongoing and have been for a while. I started some of them before Christmas, just have slowly been getting them finished off. The scrap quilts (red, blue and green) were my project for the quilt retreat, and I'm happy to have that batch of fabric cleaned out! I will hopefully get more of these finished off this weekend.

Love the b/w and the smoke coming from the race car. Great work.

I sandwiched my green scrap quilt today, and have the blue one on the table to sandwich tomorrow, now I'm out of batting until March when my supplier is back from holidays. I pulled out the fabric for my lone star today and am just looking at it until I decide if I like the fabrics and what arrangement to do them in. Cleaned up my room after the qulit retreat, when I just dumped everything on the floor.

I have 8 out of 11 rows completed on the double wedding ring quilt. The first six are sewn into one section and rows 7 & 8 are starting a new section that will go to row 11. I can't lift more than 5 pounds so that's why I'm doing it that way. I have to buy the batting and backing on Joann's President's weekend sale and then I'll get the ladies in my quilt group to help me layer everything at the church where there are plenty of large tables. Maybe by then I'll be able to crawl around and pin this monstrosity!

Wow! You sure are plowing through this! Am looking forward to pictures!!
I was going through some stash, as we are having a fabric swap at our next guild meeting and found a full box of fabric I had forgotten about!! Big Sigh. Now I have to decide what to do with all that. I have a pile started for the swap, I think it may be bigger by the end of the week!

I DID IT! The quilt top is pieced and ready to have the quilting lines marked on it. It's going to be big on a queen sized bed but that's ok, they won't need a dust ruffle.

It covers my king size bed nicely but I'm NOT making one for us!

Oh by the way, this is for my DD who received her ring on Valentine's Day! They plan to marry on August 4th and he's already told me, jokingly I hope, that this should be finished by then.

Wow, you certainly have kept your sewing machine humming!! It looks like you are enjoying time at the retreat.
momquilts, you will have a flurry of activity for the next 6 months with the wedding comming up. What fun, my DD is getting married at the end of July and it is fast approaching.

I love it. It's a wonderful modern interpretation of a very old theme. You've accomplished so much. I hope they appreciate it.
