It may just look like a big rectangle out of fleece but believe me it wasn't easy to do. Technique-wise, yes, but in reality it was a pain. We had one of those memory foam 2.5 inch pads on our queen sized bed. We got rid of our regular mattress and upgraded to a 12" thick memory foam pad and decided to turn the old one into 3 dog beds. Those pads are heavy!! And cutting it was a pain. (Great tip for cutting any type of foam; use an electric knife. I had two different neighbors digging theirs out for me to borrow.) Sewing two large pieces of fleece together isn't easy either with all the stretch going on. The pad had a velour cover on it with a huge zipper so I was able to cut that cover into three as well and even have a working zipper on the largest bed (below) for the inside cover. This bed measures approx. 36" x 60". There are two more beds I'll be finishing up today.

What's the yardge on that Lennie??
I have finished one quilt, it's drying on the back of the couch while I'm at work, so I will take a picture tonight. It was supposed to be my summer quilt for the spare room, and it will be nice for next summer now!

2.50, Laura, and I did enter it! (We should get extra points for 60" wide fabrics............ ;) ) Boy, I'm really curious to see what your first yardage number will be! This bed is about as big as it's going to get for me  unless I decide to finish the one huge quilt that lies unfinished...........

I finally got to do a little sewing. I made two Fall pillow covers to keep kitty hair off of the furniture. Hoping to make 3 more for the other throw pillows before the day is over.
1.25 yards. This fabric has been in my stash for about 4 years. I need to think of something else to make with it, since I bought 17 yards of it. ;) Maybe aprons for Christmas gifts.

I'm creative. You can't expect me to be neat too.

That fabric is just perfect for the furniture it is on. I just love the little people printed across the pillows. Placemats and a cute tablecolth. Aprons and mits/potholders. Cute totes. The possibilities are numerus. A childs vest or cardigan jacket.

Great dog beds Lennie. My old blind Van Bastin puts his order in for one.

Thanks, guys. Here's the second and last dog bed. I've decided to use a dog blanket (denim on one side and heavy fleece on the other) to cover the last bed. I have 1 more yard to add to my total. This bed only measures 30" x 42".

Here's my Hope of Hartford Quilt, I am really loving it! I wish I didn't have to put it away for the winter but it's getting too cool in the nights for it now.
10 yards in total, queen size. I tried all different kinds of feathers when quilting up and 4 borders makes for a lot of additional quilting!

Laura you are so talented. Did you do the quilting on a long arm quilter?
That last dog bed is my favorite. Lets see If I have been inspired.
I did sew today. I serged the neck of a sweatshirt for an acquaintance at work and it turned out perfect. Whew!! She is so particular and I didn't really want to do it.
I picked up my Easter dress to finish and pressed a seam that I thought I had messed up with the serger acting naughty but It pressed out nicely. The serging shows through the sheer fabric so I will take it out and just do a stitch near the edge and 1/4 inch in from the edge. Perhaps that wont show as much. I also decided to make the dress a tunic instead of a dress and make some Pajama type slacks to wear under it so I can use it all winter even though the colors are more for summer. I'll make it work.
