Wow! I am so impressed with everyone's yardage! I had hoped to do a bit more, but I didn't end up with quite as much sewing time (or motivation) as I had planned. Hopefully I can do some stash reduction projects in the new year. :)

In my sewing room of course. :D In the closet, in Rubbermaid boxes and drawers, in a bookcase, in wire or plastic baskets on metal shelving, etc. It makes good insulation for that room. :D I had to move out the guest bed to make more room. :anxious:

1.5 yards

New postby cshortsew on Sun Dec 30, 2007 4:22 pm

I finished a top to go with the skirt that I posted about on Friday. This is my last stash project for the challenge, the next 2 projects I have planned do not use stash fabric.

1.75 yards for a gored skirt for me. I've had this material for about a year, as I had some bad experiences making something for me. But I took my measurements, and away I went. It is some kind of a crinkly shiny polyester, and although I goofed with the hem, it is fixed, although the inside doesn't look so hot. I have the top cut out, and I may or may not put it together tomorrow.

I am so impressed that we sewed so much! Wowee everyone, way to go!

Today is my last two items. I found some Xmas fabric and made up 2 bags out of it, which are kind of like envelopes, so they could be used for books or something flat. I'm still working on fixing the rag quilt, I fixed seams most of the morning, now have thrown it into the wash for it's 2nd try, pulled it out and found 2 more holes. Da*& it anyways! That's what I get for not using the blunt tip scissors and using my sharp points! Jan 1 is a huge sale at my local fabric store and I have to work!! I will stop in on the way home and see what there is left for quilt batting. Everything is on 50-70% off! I don't imagine the batting will be more than 50%, but it's regular $19.98/m so 1/2 price is almost too good to pass up, specially since it's the Warm and White stuff. Enough jibberjabbing, I have to search for some ideas for rearranging my machines as quilting just doesn't work well with my machines set up the way they are.

17 Yards

New postby LeapFrog Libby on Mon Dec 31, 2007 12:41 am

This is the last for me.. I have to go tomorrow (today, now) and give DGD a sewing lesson on her new machine.. I'm taking her the first 3 lessons from Simplicity's Sewing 101 on their website.. Now, about the 17 yards.. I made the 17 flannel receiving blankets (babies) 3 or 4 are gifts, 3 more for niece to give someone and the rest are for January Circle meeting to go for our charity.. I hope we have another challenge soon.. I really made a little pathway in my sewing room, but I still need more space.. I have really cut back on acquiring more fabric, though.. I have really felt a lot better about the condition of my sewing room.. I can almost tell that mountain in there is supposed to be a day bed..LOL... And the walkway is now wide enough to put my feet side by side.. I am curious to see what our grand total all added together will be.. I didn't enter to win, I just needed the challenge to really buckle down and get some of this stuff done...Been great ! ! !

Congratulations Bama!!! :party3: Looks like you won! :party3: Great effort everyone! I'm up for another challenge whenever anyone wants. I would be happy to supply the prize if someone else can keep track of yardages.
