No don't go all complimentary on me. It's the plainest (although an excellent pattern for new sewers) thing going BUT the flannel is the SOFTEST you will ever have touched and I do like the tye-dye print. I wanted to make full on pajamas with capris and short sleeved top but only had enough for a short-sleeved night shirt. I think I got what was left on the bolt at a real, real low price last year some time. It is actually purple although it looks navy.

Sewingmom, was it you who wanted to see the Motorcycle Cat fabric? Here it is. Cute, huh? The little couple has a NO DOGS sticker on the back of their bike, see it?

Looks like we are off and running. I thought my life had slowed down enough that I could get in some sewing this past week. I ended up working every day. UUGH!

Just a quick reminder. Please round your yardage to the nearest 1/4 to make it easier on my brain. When in doubt round up.

Also I answered your questions about what counts and what doesn't over on the rules post.

Gina, I edited my yardage for you

New postby sewingmom on Tue Nov 02, 2010 8:48 am

I posted my pics in the completed garments section. Is that the wrong thing to do??? Did I misunderstand?
Sorry to confuse the issue with my yardage.. My perfectionism clicked in. My yardage should total 12.5 yards. I edited each of my 3 posts with yardage.

Pictures can be here or in Completed garments. Just make sure to link to the post in completed garments.
Thanks for fixin' your other posts for the yardage. 1/4 yds. just makes it a lot easier to keep tally. I am numerically challenged :geek: .

And the lesson learned is check your embroidery placement three times and don't do it when you are feeling like crap! Yes the canucks embroidery is crooked, about 2' at an angle. I was not happy, then I went to take a photo of the brown top and I had nicked the fabric when trimming the neck. Now, the words that came out of my mouth were definitely not ladylike, and I'm sure DH would have grabbed soap and stuck it down my throat had he heard me. I had to do a lot of repenting after that outburst. But I fixed it, don't know if she'll like it, but I liked it. These 4 tops are all for preggo DD obviously. The sleeves kept getting longer and longer as I made the same pattern over and over, and considering the three (not the black) are all the same pattern, they will all fit differently due to the stretch factor in the knits. The little mugmat was my homework from quilt class, it was a challenge to use the cream background fabric in a mugmat. I thought, there's no way I'll find anything in my stash to match this, and I had no problem at all. Now that it's done I think I'd like it better if I used a more solid blue than the flower and it's crooked as well, I just hang my head in shame and accept the 20 lashes with the wet noodle, SIGH.

Now don't everyone get your knickers in a knot. These were ongoing projects that I needed to finish up, some were 1/2 constructed waiting for embroidery, some were waiting for neck finish, and all had to be shirred. And they took all the time I had yesterday and today to sew, cause I did a lot of frogging.

I'm getting close to posting some yardage! I had to buy more rice tonight! I should finish up some rice packs tomorrow & then sew the baked potato bags & casserole carriers. Then I will be making ponchos & I guess those won't count because they are made of towels not fabric.
