I think this will be my last effort, unless I get time to make the pants I wanted to wear tonight.

I made 8 doo-rag hats for my son to take to Jamboree with him for his "Ninja" troop.

I know I keep hubby around for a reason, and he just reminded me why. I had forgotten that I finished this just before Christmas. I did have all of my completed sewing on a list, but in the pre-christmas clean up, I lost it!

I also remembered that I made some christmas placemats for a girlfriend, but forgot to take the pics! Oh well, she loved them.

I have just realised that this is the first challenge that I have made more garments than quilts. Maybe the dark side is slowly losing its grip on me??

Ahh... Step into the light.

Soph, your work is beautiful! You are a very talented woman.
Did you think the gored skirt was easy or hard? I tried one, and never finished it.

For any of you who might be posting right up to the deadline, here is a countdown to the New Year for the US central time zone: Countdown to New Year 2010. Yardage (with photos) must be posted before midnight central time to be counted.

2 3/4 yards - other

Here is a blanket/quilt from the stash. The top was a prequilted (one sided with batting) piece that was given to me by someone when I asked for fabric donations for the charity quilts - a long time ago. I finally paired it up with a piece of flannel that I bought when I first started sewing almost 4 years ago.

This is going to go to a young lady expecting her baby in March. She is coming over tomorrow to get the rocking chair that I used for my kids, and I'll give this to her as well as other stuff she might want since she is moving into her own apartment.

...now I'm wondering whre I put that gored skirt I started ages ago...Soph has inspired me to at least look at it and see if I can finish it.

1/2 yard, other

New postby temom on Thu Dec 31, 2009 9:00 pm

This is the final post for me. 3/8 yards for 3 rice packs. I was looking for the gored skirt I had started, and didn't find that (I may have finished it), but found a blouse cut out to match it. Stuck in the container with that were all these rice packs that were almost finished. They all just needed a few little things and rice. I finished the 3 small ones, but had to stop cause I'm just too tired to be coordinated enough to add rice to them.

These were from 2 Christmas' ago. I had made rice packs for my co-workers as well as dh's coworkers. (This year they got a candle...)

Ignore the big rice pack in the front - that one isn't stuffed yet, and I didn't count it in the yardage.

Happy New Year! I just wanted to congratulate everyone who participated! It was a lot of fun seeing what everyone made. I'll be working on the results over the next couple of days.

Nah, it's just a phase you are going through. I've done nothing but garments for the last 3 months. And I'm itching to get back at a quilt!
