Stash Challenge 2008/2009 Yardage and Discussion

New postby kaitlinnegan on Sun Nov 02, 2008 8:19 pm

So, you've checked out the rules and are ready to play? You can begin tomorrow (Nov. 3)! Here's what to do:

If you want to just talk about your plans and progress, simply reply to this thread.

If you want to post yardage, reply to this thread and replace the subject line (Re: Stash Challenge...) with your yardage, rounded to the nearest 1/4 yard. Include a description of your project - as detailed as you would like. If you prefer, you can post pictures and a description in the appropriate "Completed Projects" forum and post a link to that post here. It would be fun if you would share how old the fabric was and what it's original intended purpose was. :)

I'll tally the yardage periodically and post it here. So, let's get sewing!

Click here for yardage totals! (this is a Google Documents spreadsheet)
The purple column contains the individual totals, and the blue row contains the weekly totals. The dark purple cell is the overall total.

I finished 2 aprons today! I should have waited but I have lots more to go! They are for a craft show the end of the month. I promise those 2 won't be counted.

What luck! Today Hubby and I spent quite a bit cutting & ironing fabric to prepare for sewing tote bags for his co-workers. I had already used all my cut fabric with my prototypes, so I needed to cut more. I cut & he ironed. I think I got the better job!!

Do the 2 pairs of slacks that I have cut out and not sewn yet count, if I manage to actually finish sewing them?

Yep! I should clarify - project that were started before the start of the contest (but not finished) count because they are "UFO's" when the contest starts. ;)

new to the site but I have a LONG list of projects to sew for craft fairs this coming Christmas season, and a MASSIVE stash that is in desperate need of slimming down.

YAY!

(just found this site but timely I suppose)

OH THANK YOU FOR STARTING THIS! I was going to try and figure out what and how, but just hadn't gotten it done. Do we want to donate stuff for prizes again?

unless DS sends me length measurements this week, I will finish the red velvet outfit on Saturday when DGD gets here for a visit. Then we will go buy shoes to compliment the outfit. I will cut out a cape for her today. Then I have fabric for a Christmas tablecloth and Chair back covers. I bet that is all I get done before Christmas. Not prolific like some of you. Two jobs and too much computer time take its tole on my sewing. I'd like to make little gifts for everyone but marathon sewing is not going to work this year. I need to do major house cleaning this year before the hollidays.

I think we should all send the winner fabric since she will be a bit low after sewing up all her stash!!
