Counterpoint

New postby bridesmom on Thu Jun 07, 2012 7:56 pm

The name of this quilt is Counterpoint, it was a pattern my son found and loved, and wanted all the fabrics that were in it. I had a struggle finding some of them and substituted but it's darn near exact, except I forgot the inner dark green border!! But it's done and I'm really happy with it. It is for him and his girlfriends new house, it will match their living room perfectly. It's a double size. His birthday is in a few days so it's going in the box with 2 pairs of flannel shorts which he loves. This took me close to 8 months to get completed, searching and finding the fabric, then all the cutting!! I have enough little triangles left over to make a small quilt which will be the next project.

That is a stunning pattern. I'm visualizing it in vibrant colors. I think a lot could be done with that configuration. Just gorgeous, Laura!

I kept thinking i have ages to do this, and his birthday is Tuesday and I want to take it to quilt guild on Thursday so I told him his present was going to be late :o :? :) . He's also getting his flannel shorts so he should be happy. I'm thinking of sending it all in his grandfather's army trunk which I was going to give to him anyways, but its really heavy and will cost me a small fortune to ship it by bus.
