fireman baby quilt

New postby bridesmom on Tue Jun 01, 2010 4:45 pm

This is for my DD's husbands brother and wife who are expecting their first baby in July, a boy. I wanted to keep the pattern of the main fabric continuous which was a bit of a challenge, cause I tried to turn all the blocks before they were sewn and messed up the pattern, but I finally got it right.

May I order a bigger one for Kevin? I think it's great, Laura. :applause:

Thanks! All the fabric was bought on line except for the red, cause i shorted myself. I have to remember when I buy 1 on line, I am getting a yard- not a meter! Her nursery is in blues and greens, but I wanted to do the fireman thing! When baby comes I hope to have a little jean jacket done in denim with fire stuff embroidered all over it.

I have a future nephew-in-law that is a fireman fanatic. He has fireman statues and other paraphernalia all over the house. This quilt would be something he would love for his little fireman...if he had one. ;) I'll have to keep this idea in mind for the day I'll need to make one. Love the hose on the label too!
