First Superhero quilt done

New postby pucktricks on Wed Jan 14, 2009 12:25 pm

Actually it's been done for almost a month now, but I'm just getting this posted. I still have the other boy's to get done, but that's most of the way done.

Do you know how hard it is to get a picture of the quilt when you're kids keep insisting it's something for them to run over?

I'll post close-ups of the applique in just a second.

As you can, Green Lantern still has the water soluble stabilizer I used early on to do the embroidery. Later I just drew the details with a fabric marker, since the embroidery version took FOREVER! I still haven't figured out his face exactly, but that's all of my applique blocks.

Hopefully in a day or so I'll be posting Drake's blanket. Or so goes the theory.

Wowee! You are so creative! I agree, you are missing Super Mom! I love the Princess Wendy. You can tell your kids had a lot of say about it!

BTW, I notice the kids in undies. Does that mean you have a dog????

Great quilt Ticia! I love adding the kids in there too-they are indeed superheroes!! I love all the colors too. My grandkids run across the quilts I make too-they are just being kids. Great job-can't wait to see the other one!

Nope no dog yet, as that was Wendy's third pair of underwear that morning........ She likes wearing underwear, she'll go in the potty if you put her on it, but doesn't go by her own initiative. Peter has finally crossed over into the we think he's almost done for daytime...... in the last week. We finally found the incentive that gets him to go poop in the potty: comic books. He goes down to the comic store with us and picks out all the hero comics he can find. The problem is we've run out of kid-friendly comics, so I've expanded it to sticker books at the Target $1 aisle, socks, books from Half Price books. He's loving all of the little things he's getting. Me, it gets me a chance to cull the books they've destroyed without them noticing they've gone.

Your quilt is beautiful...My little grandson likes to go around without his clothes on as well.As soon as he gets home from school he takes every thing off except his underwear...Don't know how he mamages to keep it on in class...

Great, great quilt. I too love the Peter, Drake and Wendy heroes. It is a good thing you have such strong, brave children to inspire you. I bet you sleep very well at night with a house full of super heroes to protect you.
