3 Quilts Done!

New postby Upholsteress on Tue Dec 23, 2008 6:53 pm

Ok -- so they are more like comforters... but - ta-da! They were done with upholstery fabric scraps - high loft batting - and fleece liner -- so they are reversible. Pay no attention to the slapped on binding... for this type of job - I am not particular. No telling what those kids will do to these!

Hmph.. I can't get picture trail links to come up. Oh well. They're done and thats the important thing. :)

Good for you Cheryl! Are they Christmas gifts?

Yahoo! I know how satisfying it is to get something like this done! Are your fingers sore?

Congrats!

Yes they are.. for 3 of the grankids. DS said they were getting too technical in want lists... I agreed.. so I made these. DS has one that I made EONS ago and the kids LOVE it -- they drag it everywhere in the house (2 pre-teens and one teenager) so we figured they would each appreciate their own. :)

I went to photobucket and created an account.. this one works!

Cheryl, lovely work. I admire those who quilt and can match those squares up perfectly. That's a lot of precision work which is too much for me. Clothes are much easier in my book. I even have difficulty with craft items. Maybe I need to learn to sew.

Those are very fine quilts/comforters. I'm sure those kids will be very happy with them.

Cheryl,
How did you finish them? I can't imagine hand quilting through upholstery fabric. They look very nicely done. I know what a relief it is to finish a big project like that. You did a wonderful job on the piecing and by getting it done in time for gifting. Good job!!

Those look great. I'm so impressed with people who can quilt, and you can certainly quilt very well!
