UFO Bag Finally Finished

New postby HeyJudee on Mon Sep 08, 2008 10:29 pm

Well I finally finished the bag and handed it in tonight.

I took pictures but they don't do it justice...IMHO
To refresh your memories, here is the original UFO that I volunteered to make into a bag.

All I can say is WOW. The fabric you found to match is perfect. That is a beautiful bag.

Thanks ladies! You all make me feel good inside too.

Re the fabric...it was all just by accident. I got the UFO at the beginning of June and went to the Vermont Quilt Show end of June. At a quilt shop in VT, I saw the fabric and bought the rest of the bolt...couple of yards. My friend said it was nice but what was I going to do with it. I said..."Remember that bag I have to make for the charity event in Sept. Well I think it will go with the panel." Lennie was the one who found a link and pointed out it was a McKenna Ryan pattern. Well, when I was cutting out the pieces in August I noticed the name on the selvages...yep...it was designed by McKenna Ryan! And the darker fabric I found at the fabric store near my home. Was just checking out the fabrics and spotted it...bought it without even going home to get the panel to see if it would match. It was just a lot of luck!!!

You did a wonderful job on that bag, Judee... When you first showed the panel, I could not imagine that you could turn out a fantastic item like that.. I love the quilting with all the trees and the surprize also... !!! Great work..
