Grandma C..... I can do that! I took pics as I went along with it so will post those.... for the most part I used Wonder under....I fused the whole backside of a FQ of the floral fabric and fussy cut the flowers and leaves out and pressed them down to the background...did the same to the F8 of the focus fabric and cut out the "vase" the butterflies and bugs and leaves .. the "table" is actually an old linen napkin I had that already had its own design on it and made it look like a "tablecloth"

Here is the background fabrics and the "frame" fabric all pieced together

Here are the pieces all cut out...and the little purple flowerets were cut from a roll of lace

I embroidered around the large butterfly and attached the purple flowerets with a french knot... then it was all quilted with monofiliment thread around the flowers, the vase and in the pink on the border.

I really enjoyed this project....I can't wait to try it again with other fabrics!

Thank you for the pictures and instructions. When you say you "fussy cut" the flowers you mean you just trimmed around the design you wanted and cut them very precisley???

Grandma C...yes, after I put the fusible web on the back of the fabric I trimmed around each flower and leaves ...the ones I wanted....I didn't waste much at all...the design was so great in the fabric that I was able to get most of the flowers all in one piece!

Superb work Patsy - well done . Part of the skill is finding the fabric that really marries with your contest piece and you certainly did that.

Did you do free motion around the flowers? When you say embroidered was that by hand? That is such a beautiful piece...I would love to try something like that...
