My daughter's first quilt at age 7

New postby temom on Fri Feb 08, 2008 8:54 pm

This is the quilt that my daughter just finished about a week ago. She made it for her Kindergarden Teacher's Baby (my dd is in first grade now).
I did the cutting, and she did the sewing.

She had trouble with the quilting - I think her hands were just too small to handle the material. Also, she was getting dizzy sewing wavy lines on polka dot fabric, so I finished the quilting for her.

Here it is: http://www.flickr.com/photos/11506258@N ... otostream/

Now I know that I am biased, but I think she did a fantastic job!

It looks good to me. My DD is also working on her first quilt. She is 16 & doing it for an art project for school. hers is appliqued & all she has left is backing & quilting. but I think she decided just to tie it off at least for now as the project is due by friday.

My Goodness, she looks happy, and so she should. It looks like she did a beautiful job and is on her way to being an addict like the rest of us.
