Dang mine just got closer together... 2 weeks off, 1 week on, still it means the pre period migraine isn't so bad. Swings and roundabouts.

Just curious...has anyone tried the methods of tracking body temperature, mucus and cervix to monitor fertility and stage in cycle? If so, what were your experiences? Also, is it helpful during impending menopause to figure out what is going on and whether or not to expect a period that month?

Bringing this back because IT is back!
I skipped my period in Feb-July. Thought maybe I was done but OH NO! it came back. Started last friday & still going. Not bad & no cramps just a headache (which could also be the weather) & a very light flow. Just enough to be annoying! And of course if I start the same day next month it will be just in time to go back to work!

I did that for a few years. Who know, I might do it again but I hope not. I hate surprises.

I went 10 months then it all started up again :o Almost the same as before BUT when I went to the clinic they were woried :!: - it turned out to be endometrial cancer :anxious:

Everything OK now - surgeon wonderful - it's times like these that I'm very grateful for the NHS.

Wow, Jill, that was a close one! Glad you're okay now.

Barb, having all those sisters, how do you compare?

Since this post a year ago I've moved on to the second category from the first. I'm wobbly now luckily. Still getting them regularly but the time between and flow differ. For a long while I was noticing that I felt like I'd gained 10 lbs in my torso but stepping on the scale I hadn't. Decided it was bloat. I looked in this really informative book I have called, "The Change Before the Change" and the dr. suggested a helpful remedy for bloat and PMS symptoms was Evening Primrose Oil. I tried it and it's really worked for the bloat, helped with the PMS symptoms I've been feeling and also helps me sleep a wee bit better. I take 1000 mg. in the morning and 1000 mg. at night. I plan to continue.

My 2 older sisters & the sister just below me are done. My sister that is second youngest just turned 50 & had to have a procedure done that removed the lining to her uterus because she was bleeding so heavy & was very anemic. My Baby sister who turned 45 today is still going strong. I am the oldest of all to still be doing anything!

I've been done since I was 38 years old & had a complete hysterectomy/oophorectomy (uterus & ovaries removed). I don't regret it at all & that was almost 20 years ago. My DD has painful periods with lots of cramps & bloating. I really feel for her.

I'm 53, haven't gone a year yet, but the OB-GYN did the blood test and said I was done last fall. Had some spotting in January, but that's all. Oh, for added excitement, had real hot flashes for the first time this month. You know the kind: In thirty seconds your shirt is soaked through with perspiration.
