Mac 'n Cheese

What cheese/s do you use in your recipe? I have several recipes but they all taste just so so. Thanks for your ideas. Take care.

Oooo, I'm so hungry and it's one of my favorites. I've only made it a couple of times though. No one else likes it and I just pick up a Stouffer's Mac 'n Cheese once in a while when I get the craving. When I made it I used sharp Cheddar one time and I think sharp Cheddar and Jalapeno Jack the other. We're the opposite of you, Barb. We like it hearty and spicy!! :D

I never really have a choice. I just use the powder that is in the bag.

My MIL's recipe uses a lot of cheese (32 oz NY Extra sharp cheddar and 8 oz Monteray Jack). I made it one time with cheeses I had left in the refrigerator and my family liked it better. I used 10 oz extra sharp cheddar; 18 oz natural sharp cheddar; 3 oz Colby Jack; 3 oz Monteray Jack. When I made it again, I had to adjust measurements when I bought the cheese but I tried to get the amounts close.

Aww, it's okay, Jan. Mac 'n Cheese is short for Macaroni and Cheese a delectable (if you're a carb-o-holic like me) combination of cheese sauce and elbow macaroni. I'd be surprised if they didn't sell packets of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese 'round your parts. (That's the dried elbow pasta and powdered cheese sauce M. Fleecy's referring to.)

My favorite recipe uses extra-sharp cheddar and parmesan cheeses. It's really yummy, and I'm happy to share if you want it!
