Scallop Place Napkins

I made a table cloth in gold... I want to make the napkins with a scallop edge...how do you know where to start...I mean to make sure there is a scallop on each cornner

Bren, I always do this on paper with a pencil , so I can erase.. Use whatever gives you the shape and experiment.. If you put the scallop right in the center of each corner, then one side should do the trick for the pattern.. That is, if you are working with a square of fabric.. Do the corners first , then measure what space is left and come up with what will fit in there.. draw it in then see if they match the corner ones.. if not, then adjust to fit.. after you get it right on paper, then go to your fabric. Don't forget to add seam allowances..

Well, I just wrote a big long thing saying basically what Libby said.
Draw it on paper first then use that as a template.

When you decide how big you want the napkin, measure from corner to corner and divide by how big you want the scallops to see how many go between the corners -- remember there is half a scallop on each side of the corner.
Or you could divide by how many scallops you want to see how big they should be.

Yeah, that's what Libby said. So I'll shut up.
I'm not so good at these math things anyway.
