Under Armour fabric

Under Armour fabric

New postby Shellymoon on Sun Dec 16, 2007 3:14 pm

I just purchased what is called UnderArmour for DD to wear under her soccer uniform. It's basically a thick polyester blend that is made into modified turtleneck sweaters to keep them warm when they play in the elements.

One shirt costs $50!!!!!

Needless to say, I can make these things. BUT, I have no idea where to buy the fabric.

Does anyone know a source for athletic fabric or specifically, the under armour?

Thanks,
Shelly Moon

Have you tried Denver fabrics??/ I looked there and the isn't any by that name. Here is a link to seatle fabrics giving descriptions of different fabrics. ( I don't know how to post it so you only have to click on it.) I went through several before I got to any that I thought might be the same type of fabric.

This is a link to lace and fabric.com. At the bottom of this page is a moisture wicking fabric they tout as being used by underarmor.

Shellymoon... you would be shocked with what Under Armor puts out.. They have under-shirts, polo's, soccer shirts, baseball shirts, all kinds of equipment.

I don't know how they get away with charging that!

http://www.wazoodle.com has a variety of athletic/tech knits. Denver fabrics used to have some before the website was sold to FFC -- I don't think FFC has anything as far as athletic fabric.

Thanks everyone...I found the stuff at laceandfabric.com Who would have ever figured a place with the word "lace" in the title would carry this stuff?

Guess I better get my credit card out and see if there are any more sewing moms on this freshman soccer team. We've got four years to get through!
