Ideas to line georgette

New postby Alexalter on Fri Apr 11, 2008 8:20 am

I have just purchased some white georgette to make a dress and am wondering what to line it with. I have thought of batiste, gauze, and lining fabric. I am just not sure about any of them.
Thanks for any ideas.

nylon maybe? But I am partial to it--I love the way nylon feels.

rayon Bemberg "Ambiance" lining. It's breathable and feels luxurious. No static, will hang and "flow" really well with georgette, whereas some of the cottons might creep up on you under the outer garment.
Here's one source at a great price: http://www.fabric.com/apparel-fashion-fabric-lining-fabric-ambiance-bemberg-lining-fabric.aspx
I found it in every color under the sun on at least 2 other sites.

Thanks for the input. I think the rayon lining would be much better then what the pattern suggested.

I agree with Andrea, that is a wonderful lining fabric! We even get it up here and it's worth the extra money!

I also like the coupe deville linings. I use those almost exclusively when I can find them in the color I need.
