Suiting -- polyester

You all were so helpful last time, I want to ask another question about washing fabrics. I picked up some suiting today from Hancock Fabrics. Of course, there were no care instructions; I only know that it is 100% polyester. I know I will wash it cold gentle cycle, but should it go in the dryer or be hung dry?

I wash polyester in warm water and tumble dry for about 10-15 minutes on a delicate cycle and then hang it to finish drying.

I find polyester virtually indestructable. I wash with whatever I am washing as long as colour and texture are similar, though the colour is usually pretty fast, as shown how hard it is to get stains out. :| I believe it is the weave type that affects it's wash and wearability. I throw out, most of my polyester garments I throw out as I get tired of them . ;) Some I have had for many, many years and some I have even remade. Let us know what you do with yours. Will be interesting.

God put me on this earth to sew and finish a certain number of things. I am so far behind now.....I will never die!.......If I stitch fast enough does it count as an aerobic exercise?

If the fabric is loosely woven or ravels a lot you might want to serge or zig-zag the ends before you put it in the washer and be sure you finish the raw edges of seams when you sew.

I use a lot of polyester and usually just toss in the washer and dryer on a normal setting. However, if it is a blend with rayon I might remember to use the delicate cycle. Almost all of my clothes go on the normal setting.
