right and wrong side of sheer nylon

Working with a new fabric can be intimidating - discuss everything from washing to needle choice here.

right and wrong side of sheer nylon

I am cutting out sheer nylon. does it roll when stretched along the grain, to the top side or the underside. I am cutting out the nightie I should have had made weeks ago.

http://www.ca.uky.edu/hes/fcs/FACTSHTS/CT-MMB-165.pdf. It's a long article but it says that most knit fabrics when stretched on the crossgrain will curl to the right side. The article does give some good info about knits though!

I don't suppose it really matters either way, with fabric, I just pick the side I like the best and it's the right side!

I agree -- it doesn't matter as long as it's all the same way (unless the other side is showing intentionally).

I once made a jacket that I couldn't decide so I serged the edges with wooly nylon and called it reversible.
