Need good fibre mojo

Fiber masters please cross your fingers along with me! I was cleaning up the kitchen and leaned right into a tomato sauce smear on the counter with my sweater. It's a 75% silk, 25% cotton knit, and I've only dry cleaned it so far. Well, I ran up to the sink with it and it's in a cold water bath with a little baby shampoo, and I'm hoping for the best. grimaces.

I think since you got to it right away, it will probably come out. Hopefully it won't get wonky with the water -- you'll have to let us know how it turns out!

I think it will be fine, you are being gentle with it! Most of the time manufacturers put a dry clean only label on their products because they want to avoid lawsuits!!

I always keep a bottle of club soda under my sink for just such emergencies. It is acts like Oxyclean but is in liquid form. Then I do the washing. Unfortunately I do find tomato one of the hardest stains to get out. I put the stain over a glass or bowl, depending on it's size, and keep pouring the club soda through it until the stain disappears. The product called OXYCLEAN is excellent as well and I also keep it under my sink. I have found that the relatively new spray bottle of pretreat oxclean doesn't work as well as mixing up the powder and using it while is still bubbles.

Good luck - I hope you get the stain out. I am just sick when something I love seems to be ruined.
