It reminds me of a bikini bottom I had when I was 16. Actually very flattering, because I was built pretty straight up and down but with slightly broad shoulders, and it made me look like I was better proportioned than I was. ;)

My butt is way too big to be wearing something like that! Even If I was perfect, I think I would be too embarrassed to wear it. I'd like to leave something to the imagination.

Yeah, but I'm talking about when I was 16! Back then I had 34" hips! And it was a bikini. I'm a California girl.

I hate this dress with a passion!!! You know, it isn't even about being thin or having a very toned figure. It's about the fact that it looks like the fabric is, ahem, in an unfortunate place. I want to scream every time I go to the Vogue site and see this awful thing,

I was looking at some vintage 1950's websites and found similar dresses labeled as "wiggle dresses" meaning they were supposed to show that one has a wiggle in their walk by wearing tight skirts. It was considered fashionable at the time when one wore girdles and bullet bras. Definitely not a favorite of mine.

I don't imagine many men would be opposed to a wee bit of corsetry............. ;)

I had a dress with a similar thing happening back in the eighties. It was a really loud print of some kind of spandex knit stuff. It had the ruching up the midline of both the back and front. It went higher on both sides to the bustline in the front and ended in a corset type lace up thing at the back. The skirt finished in a split with a fishtail. And it was strapless. It was about as tasteless and cliched as ever a dress ever was. Aside from the fact that it was vulgar and revolting it looked great. Back then (before 20) I had a fabulous figure. Just no fashion sense or taste. Oh well.

I actually don't mind this but don't think there's many women at all on the face of the earth who can make it look good. And even if they could - whether or not they should. I'm dreading dd becoming a teenager. I'm sure I'll be punished.
