Valentine and Easter Dresses

New postby cshortsew on Mon Feb 18, 2008 7:36 am

These are the Valentine's Day dresses and Easter dresses I made for my granddaughter and the little girl across the street(my unofficial granddaughter).

The Valentine dresses were preprinted, cut and sew panels that my mother bought several years ago to make for my niece and never made them. I used the pocket pieces to make the matching purses.

The Easter dresses are Simplicity 4246 sizes 1 and 2. I used eyelet that I had in my stash for the dress and bought cotton sateen for the blue ruffle and ribbon for the sash. My daughter had the song "My Favorite Things" from The Sound of Music stuck in her head and wanted "girls in white sashes with blue satin ribbons" for my granddaughter's Easter dress. I couldn't decide on another color that I liked for the second dress, so they match.

I especially like the little easter dresses. They are both adorable. I can envision little girl twirling in their dresses smilling and getting dizzy.

Great job! I have to get started on Easter dresses for my DGD's & their friend. I bought some sheer with pink & lavender stripes & flowers @ WalMart a while ago for $1 a yd. I got lining in pink & Lavender to go under the twins dresses I haven't decided on a color for their friend Julia yet.

Very pretty! The combination of the white eyelet and blue sashes is just so cute - now I've got that song in my head. :D

Very cute. I loved it when those panel dresses came out. My DGDs loved wearing them. So wish they were the age that I could make more cute dresses for them.
