Laura, that is a great looking scarf! I saved it to my favorites on Ravelry. I've never tried the linen stitch, but I like the look of it. I also love scarves and shawls made of sock yarn. I'll keep saving my left over bits for this pattern. :D Thanks Laura!
I'm creative. You can't expect me to be neat too.

Knitters: I've looked everywhere for help. I looked on the original Patons Yarn site where the pattern's from. I looked for help on Ravelry where I got the pattern. I knitted "short rows" and I have stitches left over when the bag should be done.

I'm confused with the following. I'm working on circular needles and am down to the very bottom of this bag. I've been working 192 stitches all along, like 18 inches!

Next rnd: K121. Cast off 71 sts.
SHAPE BASE: Next row: (RS). K95. Sl1. K1. psso. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.
Next row: K70. K2tog. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.
Next row: K70. Sl1. K1. psso. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.
Next row: K70. K2tog. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.
Rep last 2 rows until there are 71 sts. Cast off.
(I'm thinking I should have kept going till 71 was all I had left. I worked it till I had 71 sts left not counting the unworked sts.)

Sew cast off edges tog to close bottom of Bag.

I followed each exactly regarding the number of stitches. I sewed the cast off stitches together at the bottom. Problem is I have 20 sts on one side of the sewn bottom and 21 on the other side of the sewn bottom. Do you agree that what's in red is where I screwed up? I repeated those last 2 rows just 3 times.

Here's the whole pattern. http://www.patonsyarns.com/pattern.php?PID=2426

Thanks!
Lennie

Thanks for confirming that, Dorothy. Hard to imagine what else it could be. But seeing no mention of it from any other folks who've knit the same pattern makes me feel
dumb. :brick: Guess I'll be channeling my inner frog this evening! ;)

That crossed my mind although it's more like 41 that are left unknit. If I bind those off ............. I'll have to see how big that makes my bottom, so to speak!

I have finished off the body of my shrug for DGD, all it needs is the edging stitching done which I plan on doing tonight. I'm really happy with it. Now I found a pattern for a shrug for me, but I think I am going to be short of yarn, but I think that Zellers still has one big ball of the yarn left, I will head over there tomorrow. Then I am going to attempt the linen scarf on a large round needle.

Hey gang, it's done! Finito! I'm so happy with it. It looks just like the picture. It's not lumpy. I'm not a good photographer.

My Felted Bag started about a month ago. I suppose I knit anywhere from 1/2 hour - 2 hours per day on it. Oh, oh dd just called. On her way over she stopped to pick up a tarantula to take home and it stung her. Yikes! Apparently not a big deal but I'll learn what I can and be back here later. Hope you like my bag. I sure do!
