Which way is up?

New postby bridesmom on Tue Nov 22, 2011 6:35 pm

Ok, I'm knitting this sweater for a 4yr old boy. I have 2 questions,
1. should I finish the sleeves in the stripe, or in a solid black, the color will be black

2. Which side should I use as the right side? The pattern right side is picture #2.

I'm not sure if I even like this, but I will finish it, I'm just kind of stuck at the moment.

I really don't like the second picture. It looks wrong side out to me. I would do solid black sleeves if it were me.

The "right" side looks wrong to me but only because it's never the "right" side. ;) I'd go for stripey sleeves but that's just me. Solid black just seems too grown up for a 4 y/o for some reason.

I vote black sleeves and picture 1 as right side.

the first picture looks better to me.
for the sleeves - how about two completely different colours for stripes (green and orange? blue and brown?) ... a 4-year-old *might* like that! maybe...

Well, I'm in agreement that the wrong side is the better side, though the button holes will be on the wrong side, but he's 4. I had thought about doing the sleeves in big color sections of black, red and white (just the 3 large stripes) though I like the red sleeves idea. I should have enough left to do that.

Thanks for the help!! I need to get this done and off my table cause its staring me in the face all night long!
