halloween idea needed

New postby Mom of Six on Sat Oct 15, 2011 6:14 pm

I want to use some of my kids old halloween costumes & make scarecrow like figures for my front yard. I bought some blanket sleepers & sweat pants & turtlenecks that I thought I can stuff with something (old plastic bags, newspaper ect). Then I will dress them in the costumes & it will look like trick or treaters in my yard. Now I have to figure out how to make a head. My kids never liked masks so I don't have those to use for a face. I thought maybe just cutting big circles or squares of muslin & stuffing that then drawing (or have DD or Dgs do it) the face on. Anyone have a better idea?
I did think about somehow enlarging a photo of the grandkids & doing an iron on but my youngest thought that would be creepy, I thought it would be cute but I don't really know how to do it.

Barb, Better Homes and Gardens site had a cute idea to use a carved pumpkin for the head of a Halloween figure for the yard. Just go to their site and I'm sure you'll find it.

Around here I've seen burlap bags stuffed with straw and a face painted on.

That's what I would do. And you can use the fabric yardage in the challenge.

We want photos.
