Granddaughter needs prayers

Our new little granddaughter (just turned 3 months yesterday) is being admitted to the hospital tonight and placed on tube feedings since she has only gained 2 pounds since birth and isn't taking in enough calories in order for her heart to heal. She has also been placed on the fast track list for heart surgery to close the 2 holes that she has. It is hard to take this all in since she is strong and is advancing rapidly in her development and has shown no signs of shortness of breathe, discoloration to her lips, hands or feet. She has already started turning from her back to her tummy. She is a happy baby, cooing and babbling at us. Her feedings are a battle though. Ever try to make an infant drink? Impossible to do if she doesn't want to. If she takes 2 ounces every 4 hours we feel fortunate. If we try to space her feedings closer she absolutely refuses to open her mouth. Her Mom/Dad are a wreck and we aren't far behind. We just started watching our DGD this week since Mom went back to work. Prayers are needed for a quick successful surgery and recovery. Thanks to you all.

Praying for your sweet little granddaughter and your whole family. Has she been fed high-calorie formula? All babies are different, and it sounds as though she is thriving well, in spite of her difficulties.

Awww ... Brockie, it is so hard when little ones are sick and can't explain "why" something is happening. I will certainly pray for her, her parents, you and all of the family. We just never know what is going to happen so I will be praying for comfort, strength, wisdom, and mercy. (((HUGS)))

Thanks to all.
Spent several hours last night holding Abby while her Mom and Dad ate, gathered needed supplies and called other family members. She is in the ICU and surgery is scheduled for Monday. What a change in her from yesterday afternoon from the happy bubbly baby that was reaching for herself when she saw a baby in the mirror to the exhausted limp little baby last night. The intake exams, blood draws and IV insertion exhausted her. Mom is planning on spending all her time at the hospital and I'll be going in to spell her so she can (hopefully) go home for some sleep. Dad will be there during the day also but is unable to spend the night (hospital rules) and hopefully he can drag Mom away when we get there.
Please keep us in your prayers on Monday, it is going to be a long day then. Thank you so much.

Brockie,
I will be praying personally and I will enter 'Brockie's Granddaughter" on the prayerlist at Church chapel tomorrow. A group of members get together every day in the Chapel and pray for all that have requested it. Blessings to all of you .

Thank you for your continued prayers. It means a lot. Abby is worn out as they are force feeding her now since she won't take enough by mouth. She is tolerating the tube they feed her thru but they still insist that she be fed with her bottle and what she doesn't take in her bottle is put down the tube. It just tires her out so to make her drink. DD is hoping that the doctor will order the feedings be done continuously so that she can recover and rest from all the other tests and treatments they are doing so she can be stronger for Mondays ordeal. It is terrible to see a 3 month old baby with bags under her eyes. Chaplin came around yesterday and prayed with us all. It was what we all needed at that point.
