What color batting?

New postby bridesmom on Sat Jun 18, 2011 4:04 pm

Well, DS (the Boston fan) is getting a Boston Bruins quilt. The top is pretty much black with gold and white, the backing a large white and gold gingham plaid.
If I put a black batting, it's going to show through on the back, but if I use a cream or white batting, won't I get little white tufts on the top when I'm quilting it?
What do I do?

You could do what Lennie mentioned, use a black batting on top and cream on the bottom. IT would be an expensive and heavy quilt. ;)

I guess you have to decide what you can live with more...the white bits on the top or black showing thru the backing. Or switch and use a darker fabric for the backing???

I would just use a cotton batting.
I'm creative. You can't expect me to be neat too.
