That is what I was thinking! I could use up a lot of scraps! There is a new baby due in April.

This is such a cool project! Does anyone know if this finished quilt would be ok for a baby? I'm wondering if the threads continue to come out, thus leaving us with a choking hazard.

No hazard, Theresa. I've made so many of these and as long as you wash the finished product two or three times it's fine. I've got one in the cradle about to be used for a grandniece. I've made most of mine for newborns.

I love the humor here. :P
I am working on sewing my many blocks to gether. Oh, and I bought spring action fiskars at Joanns today and the lady at the cash register pulled a cupon out from under the counter for me so I got a discount. :) Had a headache after going to Hancocks and Joanns so I skipped Harbor Freight. :(

edited 11/7/11 10:06 AM; :) I'm snippen the seams and have already clipped through some of the stitchen :( . I see I must be in good light to do this This is! fun and fast!!!

Keep on clippin'! Be sure and check carefully when you *think* you're finished. I always seem to miss a seam or two. I've usually sat on my porch when clipping. Good light there but it may be a bit cold this time of year. Also, if you miss a seam it'll be obvious after you've washed it the first time.

I keep a piece of cardboard handy and use it to keep from clipping thru the seams when I get to that stage on a rag quilt.. It works really well. Just lay it on the seamline and hold it with the other hand and clip away !

Thanks for the tip! I have a puppy shaped flannel rag 'quilt' to clip and I'm dreading it. Maybe with the cardboard it will go faster? If I get it done, I could count it toward the Stash Challenge because the fabric was bought before DGS#1 was born (2008). DD was supposed to make it and I got tired of seeing it around so I did all but the clipping. Now it's in a closet ready and waiting. Ugh!

I have clipped through several seams. I am looking for cardboard now. Next time I will use a color of thread that I can see better. Oh! another tip, Do NOt wear dark colored pantw when clipping and for that matter light colored pants will be covered with threads also. :o
