Hooded towel for baby

New postby bridesmom on Sun Sep 09, 2007 12:01 am

Got some turquoisey blue green terry cloth from my MIL and was going to make a hooded towel for the new grandson, but I wanted to put ears and eyes on it, so it looked like an animal but for the life of me I can't come up with what kind of animal is turquoisey blue - It's one of the ones that is almost like a little robe, it's two 'squares' sewn part way down the sides, with a hood on it.

Sully - from Monsters Inc. One of the muppets maybe? A teddy bear? An elephant might be cute. I'm having trouble too but I suspect that any realism will be lost on him in any case. Just have fun with it.

The Monsters Inc would be cute, but mom is totally against any kind of licensed cartoony thing, and since they do not have a tv and do not do movies, even the muppets would be useless. An elephant would be cute though.

I keep thinking of animals that don't have ears. :P Geckos, salamanders, parrots... But some with ears... In the elephant vein, maybe a hippo? Or a rhino? A dolphin or a whale - but there we go with the no ears thing again. :)

Do you think the newborn will know or care? One of the great things about childhood (and secret of adults) is fantasy. I don't know what I would do without the pixies in my life!

We're going for a blue duck with a yellow bill and a little yellow tail.
