LOL. Done that, and ended up with the zipper pull in my hand and the garment in the other!

The problem was that the only yellow zipper I found was 9". Luckily, I traveled this past weekend to a big town, and came back with a 22" yellow zipper. Yay!

Did you get the dress finished? I'm interested to see it as I have that pattern too. (I have lots of patterns -- I just don't get around to actually using them. I buy them when they're on sale thinking I'll need them later.) :roll:

FYI -- Although I don't know that much about sewing, I'm very familiar with boning. I made a strapless formal for my daughter (twice) that required boning. I did lots of experimenting, and found that the only kind of boning I will ever use is Rigilene. It's the flat kind that was mentioned in an earlier post, and can be sewn through. The thicker plastic kind that comes in a casing is difficult to use and bends oddly. I sewed the Rigilene boning directly to the inside of the lining as it was easier than making channels, and then it was directly over the seam whereas the channels push it to the side of the seam.
